Elder law is a legal term used to encompass an area of legal practice that emphasizes issues that affect the growing aging population.

Elder Law is a relatively new specialized field of law that deals with the issues faced by the fastest growing segment of the US population—the elderly. Elder law estate plannng combines elements of Estate Planning (Wills and Trusts) and administration, including tax questions; issues dealing with Medicaid, disability, and long-term care, and Guardianships, Conservatorships, and elder abuse matters.
